B.T.S.N.!!!
My favorite commercial of ALL time! We had Back to School Night at the elementary on Tues. and the Jr. High on Wed. Tuesday night we were able to meet the two new teachers that Amanda and Lukas have. They seem to be very nice and come to our school with alot of experience. Lukas teacher has paticipated in the International Space Camp and has taught school for 20 yrs. She said she gets extra funding from NASA for her class so they might get a few "extras" throughout the year. She had her flight suit hanging on her wall. I was very impressed! We ate pizza and watched Amy B. suffer through being introduced as the new PTA Prez! She will do a fabulous job!! They had the blow-up jumper thing and the huge slide. Josh said he went down the slide and landed in a puddle of sweat!?! They all said the slide reaked. But it was great to see everyone from the community!
Yesterday we spent 2 hrs. @ the 7th grd. orientation and then 2 hrs. later at Back to School Night @ the Jr. High. It's interesting how different your perspective is on the whole experience as a parent rather than a student! Josh was able to find all his classes and open his locker. The rest will work out itself!! It was a whole differnt experience meeting his teachers as the night before. At the elementary the teachers are like, "Hi! What's you're name? I'm so terribly thrilled out of my living mind to have you in my wonderful, exciting warm fuzzy class room." Then you go to the Jr. High and you get, "Hi. My name was on the door as you came in. Who is here for Pre-Al? good. You might want to bring a pencil to write with and some paper. I don't care what kind. If you parents want to know what's going on in class look at the website. This will probably be the last time we converse in person as I only deal with you through email. Thank you. Goodbye." Okay, it wasn't that extreme, but darn close. It's just a whole new world! I am positivley optimistic that it will be a good experience for us & Josh! Only 4 more days and counting!!!
