Prayers for Heather

Yesterday I was at work and I got a phone call from my Mom that my niece, Heather had been in a car accident. It happened on Hwy. 89 in Harrisville at the intersection near where the North Star drive-in used to be. A lady turned left on a red light and hit Heather head on. It took them quite a while to get her out of the car due to her injuries. They took her to McKay where we found out that her right leg and wrist are severly fractured. They were going to sedate her in the e.r. to set them but then they realized she had a collapsed lung as well. After another MRI and CAT scan they knew she did not have any other internal injuires. She was taken to a room late lastnight and is awaiting surgery later today. They will have to opperate on both her leg and wrist. She is in alot of pain right now but is being brave. She is 20 yrs. old and the cutest, sweetest girl you could ever meet! The heartbreak of all of this is that she is suppost to be married this Saturday. Lstnight she said she WILL get married on Sat. even if it is in her hospital bed!

We are all just thankful that she is alive and well. So far all her injuries are fixable. My poor brother (her dad) is on vacation with his wife and they can't get here until 11:30 tonight. I can't imagine his anguish in being so far away. Heather is definatley a "Daddy's Girl" and he is all she has asked for.
