Yesterday my friend Jamie asked me if her daughter, Chloey, could come play with Amanda before school and get on the bus with her because they had to attend a funeral. "Sure! No problem!" So she dropped her off around 10:45 am. The girls played and then we had some lunch and headed for the bus stop around 12:00. Once we arrived at the bus stop we waited and waited and waited. I thought, "Where is that dumb bus driver?" Mind you I have no valid reason for blaming the bus driver or thinking he is dumb. He is actually a very nice old man who waves at everyone every day and waits for the kids when they are running from 3 blocks away. Anywho....befuttled and frustrated I throw my hands in the air and decide that "somehow" we have missed the bus. So we scurry back home, load the girls in the car and run them over to school. They jump out and skip into class.
I then came home and walked over and talked to my neighbor who was cleaning out her garage. I scored two exercise mats and a mountain bike. We chatted for a while and then I came home, got ready for work and then left at about 1:20. I needed to be at work at 2:00 so I had oodles of time! About half way there I was on my cell phone when another call beeped in. When I looked at my caller i.d. I saw that it was the hospital. (my work) I thought, "Why are they calling me from work when I will be there in 5 min.?!?" Then I glanced at the clock in my car and my heart sank. IT SAID 2:37!!! What the......?!? How the freak did that happen?!? I looked at it again and then thought back on the morning wondering where I went wrong! I had set all my clocks ahead the day before! We had been on time for church, Joe to work, kids to school, etc! I wish I could find a valid reason why I was an hour behind, but I still have no excuse!!!
Apparantley I dropped the girls off an hour late for school. I called their teacher today to explain and she when she asked the girls where they had been they just said, "We missed the bus." YA THINK?!? She probably thought they had walked to school! She just laughed and thought it was funny. When Jamie asked Chloey about it she said it was "short day"! I have a feeling she is going to want to get on the bus with Amanda more often!
