Soccer, soccer & more soccer!

Last weekend Lukas' team participated in a soccer tournament in Park City. It was so much fun! We had games scheduled Thurs. & 10:30 & Fri. @ 8:30 & 4:30. We didn't know if we would play on Sat. until we knew our standing after the first three games. As it turned out we won our first game 8-0, tied the second game 2-2 & won the third game 12-0. This put us in first place in our bracket!!! The boys played soooo great! So Sat. morning we played and won and then we played again at 4:30 for the U12 championship. Unfortunatley we lost that game 3-1. But who can complain about second place? We were soooo proud of them!!! They did such a good job! This is the best we have ever done in a tournament! It was so well organized and the fields were great! The boys were given a very kool medal for second place!

I am so thankful for Lukas' coach, Bob Stoor. He is so good with the boys. During the games he dosen't scream like a maniac on the side lines and he has taught the boys good sportsmanship. Whenever a player on the other team got hurt our team would automatically take a knee until the player either left the field or was okay to continue playing. Bob even had our boys kick the ball out of bounds when one of the other players got hurt. Our boys also play a very 'clean' game where other teams use alot of aggression and elbows to gain the advantage. No matter the score, our boys are always winners!

We stayed overnight in Park City Thurs. night at a condo and the kids had fun swimming. I took all 4 kids school clothes shopping at the outlets on Thurs. At first I thought, "What am I thinking?" But they were all great and we actually had alot of fun. That is a first experience for them. In all the years past I have just gone and bought their clothes and said, "Suprise!" While the other three wouldn't mind me still doing that, Josh wanted to pick out his own this year. It must be the teenager coming out in him. It was fun though! We had a great weekend together! What more can you ask for? We are looking forward to another tournament next week!
